Max August is an investment professional at General Atlantic, a leading global growth equity firm with $40B AUM, where he focuses exclusively on Israel. Prior to GA, Max spent 2 years serving as one of Dan Senor and Saul Singer’s research associates for their follow-up book to Start-Up Nation. He also spent time at RRE Ventures, an early-stage venture capital fund in New York, and at Torch Partners, a tech-focused investment bank in London. In addition, Max worked at Visa’s Innovation Studio in Tel Aviv, focused on FinTech investing. Max studied Economics at Harvard College and published his senior thesis about the Impact of Experience on Israeli Entrepreneurial Success, a project co-advised by Larry Summers and Paul Gompers. Max is deeply involved in Jewish and Israel non-profit work. While at Harvard, he started the Israel Summit, a grassroots movement dedicated to helping college students engage with Israel. To date, the Israel Summit movement has raised over $500K, spread to 5 campuses, and hosted 40+ high-tech Israeli startups along with many distinguished speakers. He is also a board member of the Jewish Future Pledge, a new initiative seeking to encourage Jewish engagement across generations. Max currently lives in New York and has a profound love of ping-pong.
